There's something rather endearing about this song.  Very James Blunt-esque but in a good way.

But one day the old lovers long for more
Dreams and desires of another youth
And they leave their families, betray their friends
They don't want advice about how to be happy

I think the reason why I am not getting bored with songs is that I am not listening them very much. Actually, excluding the Finnish and Dutch songs, I have listened the songs only 2 times and if you would ask me to say my opinion about most of the songs, I should listen them first to be able to say something.  ;)

I listen to my top 10 quite a lot...but there's some of them I've only listened to twice - such as Serbia, France & Greece - none of which I like very much at all.

That's so nice to hear, Martial, but personally I'm too afraid to hope it... We're still Belgium after all, Flopland number 1 at Eurovision. Being in the final is already fantastic, a good position will be a bonus.

Surely Portugal and Finland are more Flopland number 1 than Belgium.  Tom is going to get a very good position and I think Martial is right that it will be Flanders' best result

Both Portugal and Finland have better results if you compare with Flanders. Flanders (and Belgium) never qualified for the final until this year. The best result for Flanders is a 7th place, we have to go back to 1977 with Dream Express, the year I was born  :D  Portugal reached a 6th place in 1996 and Finland won in 2006. If you compare with Belgium, the record seems indeed better, but this is mainly due to the RTBF (French-speaking) entries. I make a difference between Flanders and Belgium because we really do live in two parallel societies here in Belgium (even though I regret this very much, but that's another question...  :( )

After all the flops during the past years (with Xandee and Kate Ryan as superflops) I'm really too afraid to believe that Belgium will actually receive a lot of points. But don't get me wrong, I really adore Tom's song, he's a great singer, a cute guy and he gets more out of a song than there is in it. Anyway, we don't have anything to lose on Saturday, the fact that Tom is in the final is already a victory for my country.  :goodjob:

I must admit that I have never really thought about it that there's 2 distinct countries competing under 1 nation's name but when you put it like that then yes Flanders is Flopland #1.  Xandee was underrated but Kate Ryan got what she deserved IMO - on stage she had absolutely no charisma whatsoever.  Since Tom performed however there's been a real buzz about him and the song so I still think anything is possible.

I hope I'm totally wrong this time but with this draw unfortunately I can't see Tom in Top Ten in the final.

The one thing in his favour draw wise is that he's following a rock song (Bosnia) & is followed by an uptempo one (Serbia)....but I kinda agree that he could've done with being later.
