Yes I did. Actually I was not very surprised. Our tastes have always been quite different. Maybe not exact opposite but not very similar either. In fact we either completely agree or completely disagree in most cases. By the way even the first time I heard this year's Estonian entry I felt that you would love it. I'm glad that I wasn't wrong.

well people used to call me names, insult me a lot and say i was very unfair (only promoting France) and that i had no taste just wanted to go against the usual fans taste (is it a crime to hate schlager?) but with you it was not like that. First by saying you could have expected my winner, that proves I do have a taste and that people can recognize it. And yes even if we did disagree often there was always respect and you did have your own taste and for that reason I came to think of us as closer than maybe we are music-wise. You're still the only person I know who likes and defends "Comé comédie" I think you had it 4th of 72 !
By the way, did you really think of me even if we hadnt spoken for years when you heard "Siren" ? Because when people mention Mia I often think of you!
I can honestly trade all the other 38 songs this year to one single "Algo pequeñito", even though I'm not exactly crazy about the singer. Any song from my last year's top six would have been my runner-up this year, with the exception of Kaas of course because she would have been my winner in any of last 15 years or so except 2004.
I tend to agree.. The Spanish song is a surprise in many ways : mostly because with one of the most horrible national finals ever (and a terrible online system) they still managed to get one of the most decent entries of the year. I'm afraid of the live : it could be really nice and creative or totally cliché and annoying. I tend to think he's a bad singer and that is why i only have Spain 5th so far! 2009 was not as good in national finals as in 2010 but in esc 2009 was a strong year indeed ! I agree for Kaas, she is just the best singe our beloved 96 with one exception but for me it's 2006 (and "Lejla") and not 2004..
Frankly I do have some serious doubts about the live performance of Croatia come final (or even semi-final) night. Actually I find their NF performance exceptionally good but of course it could be a fluke. Still I love their song even if they're gonna butcher it in live. Come to think of it I guess my ideal runner-up (or maybe even winner) this year could have been Niamh singing "Lako je sve", with English lyrics of course. I think that way I could have got it all right, song, singer, performance etc.
I do take everything in account and try to give a fair ranking but I also think of it as a whole : an entry is an entry not just a song (seriously fans who always love crappy songs and yet say "it's a SONG contest" bore me : if it were we'd have it on radio. Come on Jacqueline or Teddy would never have won without their amazing lives and smiles) and live performances matter, but also the overall tone and style. Chosing Feminem even if they are now better singers and without the Babic disgraceful tunes (gosh that "call me" the only bosnian mistake) is still a mistake in my opinion, especially in Dora 2010. So it's a no for me, even though it's not as bad as some other balkan entries this year (did someone say Slovenia?)
