A lot of things have to be said here. First of all, pts are much more spread throughout, even my 4th is below the 4pts average this time. So the countries who did the best are almost all the countries who at least got a victory from me this decade (Bosnia 06, France 02 and 09, Serbia 08, Turkey 04, Latvia 00, Russia 01 or Montenegro 05 and of course Georgia 07 but the country is not ranked because it has only 2 entries). The only exceptions are Belgium, lucky 20th with 12pts all from its victory in 03 and Romania, 5th with 4 songs in my top 10 but 'only' twice runner up (00 and 05). Another important element is the big importance of "newcomers".. Apart from Georgia, we can notice that in the top 10 only 2 countries started esc before the 90s (France and Turkey), a number that becomes 7 out of the top 19.. If we look at these countries no surprises there, France always in good shape, Turkey steadily good though it goes from pure excellent to pure crap (for instance 2004, 2008 are excellent, 2007 and 2009 are imo huge crap) and then three nordic countries, starting with Finland of course, an then Sweden or Iceland, no big surprises there, along with Belgium. So the newcomers have, most of the times, done well, though it is important to note that in bottom 3 only one country is an oldie (Netherlands) while Hungary and Belarus are also newcomers.
