true, since typical esc songs are usually cheap and crap ; something about odd songs was doom to be rather good.. too good? I don't think so, apart from my own song (a huge masterpiece), we also have my 3rd fave song of the last decade and it easily got my 12pts

What the hell is doing Israel 2005 or Italy 1990 in this edition!? Sorry, but Israel 2005 is a normal jewish balade and everything on stage is normal and Italy 1990 is a normal song from that period of time. I searched only one reason for these two to enter in this edition, but... there is no reason for me.

It's not my entry, but I think that the person who chose Italy 1990 did it because of the lyrics. It was the first and only time in the history of ESC that a singer sang about the completion of the European single market, at the end of 1992.

and that was done to please the cheesy juries who always went for quirky lyrics : it was done for the victoty and it won, it was done for eurovision definitely
