In 2006 the Scandanavian TV channels had decided not to participate in JESC and they brought back Melodi Grand Prix Nordic (MGP Nordic was first on in 2002 then turned into JESC).
The big show took place on November, 26th in Stockholm, Sweden.
This was the first time in three years that MGP Nordic took place after Denmark, Swedish broadcaster SVT, and Norway pulled out of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
