Great video Morgan!  I keep watching it and I wonder what kind of Top 5 for the '90s and '00s you have. Nothing compares to those old songs and your video is in fact a great way of promoting the Eurovision Song Contest with the best it has.

Thanx for the kind words! in fact, the more recent it gets, the less I agree with esc resuls, without surprises!

Nice video!  ;)

I'm not very familiar with the old ESC-songs yet, so I can't give my own favorites now.
But it's very interesting to watch those songs, they are beautiful and interesting without much dancing and much lights.

well eurovision is music & performance
nl 59 pr fr 60 both won because of amazing performances and not just songs

but the great 60s are good because BEFORE any performances, they're all actually "music"
we can't say the same about 90% of the modern esc songs

Having watched your videos - some surprising #1s for me...some good surprises some not

Germany 64 :o :goodjob1:
Spain 66 :o
Sweden 67 :o
Austria 71 :o :goodjob1:
Finland 74 :o :goodjob1:
Turkey 75 - having watched her performance again I'm even more dumbstruck that a song THIS good performed THAT well finished last :irked:
Greece 76 :o :goodjob1:
UK 78 :o - our worst result upto that point -- although I've never understood why either...it's my #2 behind Belgium
Israel 79 :o - surprised you like something so cliched.  Personally I love it and it was brilliantly performed.

What an interesting winners' video from 1970's, Morgan!  :goodjob: I must say that I disagree with you with winners from 1970 - 1972, but with rest I agree quite much!  :) I am really happy for seeing my all time best nr 3, Greece 1976, in your list, as well as Carita in 1974.

You're right there are more surprises in that 80s video.

Luxembourg 1983 - I've never seen the attraction to this song I find it all rather insipid to be honest
Switzerland 1984 - :o - WOW that one comes as a real surprise
Italy 1987 - :ack: - horrible horrible song for me....although Raf is kinda cute
Netherland 1988 - :o - another one I just don't get.  Very ordinary for my ears.

Otherwise either good or unsurprising choices...although none of them are my own #1s of the years :)

Luxembourg 83 - great lyrics (about abortion), very well performed, simple effective ballad smashed by a voice and a killer performance
switzerland 84 - amazing lyrics, great vocals
italy 1987 - i really don't like the year, Finland and Belgium are others I like too, but Italian singers are good and the song's decent so it wins
netherlands 88 - another ok year but without any sparks.. turkey and belgium are the others i care for, but they all have flaws.. Nl is not my type but in its style its perfect, strong vocals and live was enough to get the victory

Remy! I agree! Edisila was the best!

Morgan - your videos are great! I don't know much about the older contests, but your videos certainly helped!
