The songs that have made it to the final selections in Cyprus:

Christina Tselepou - In These Arms

(sounds quite nice)

    Valence - Scared

(wow my ears burn)

Pieros Kezou - Said it All Before

(not that bad)

Maria Moskofian and Christiana Chatziiordanous - Sailing Ships, Pirates And Dragons

(I like Saprano singing but not a fan of this)

Ioanna Protopapa - Beat Of My Heart

(too much electro)

Eva Diva - Come And Fight For Freedom

(feel like I went back to 80’s with this would work better if she dressed as if she were 80’s and make it 80’s theme)

    Emily Haralambous - Right In

(I actually liked this until it got more disco then it ruined it for me)

   Iosif  Charalampous -I Wanna Dance

(Hell no!!)

  Maria Evangelou – Still

(think  this would be good if it was more acoustic)

    Eleni Irakleous – Dawn

(I like this couldn’t see it doing well though)

    Doody – Magic

(no just no, but can see it being a favourite)

Charis Savva & Nearchos Evaggelou – Dila Den Agapo

(hand me a hanky … nah … cant see this making it)

    Christos Rialas – Mine

(my face was like the judges at 31 seconds …)

    Minus One – Shine

(Ouch my ears bleed)

Giannis Karagiannis - One Thing I Should Have Done

(Boy Band style, he has an ok voice but im sure his glasses are a playback device)

    Yuri – Victorious

(Just another HELL NO)

Apollonia - Don’t Give Up On Me (Just Yet)

(I really like this has to be my fav of this list not just because she good looking)

Hovig - Stone In A River

(Wannabe … cant say anything else)

Panagiotis Koufogiannis - Without Your Love
(cant find a video of this song yet)

    Kyriakos Georgiou - Shake Dat

(my eyes and ears burn!!)

I do hope Apollonia gets it!

That's a very mixed bag.  Some of them were really awful, and I agree with you about which ones they were.  There were some very good ones though.  I think that a number of the songs by the female artists would do well.  I have a soft spot for the song called Dawn, but like you I doubt that it would do well at Eurovision, it's not really a Eurovision winning song.

I'm not sure to be honest.  The first one is quite good, but she might need to work on her voice a bit to ensure that she's fully in tune at all times, the '1980s style one' (I completely agree that it sounds as though it's from that era) is a good tune, but the costume doesn't go at all.  It's as though she's dressed for a slow operatic style ballad.  I like the song though.  Dawn is a very good song, and Apollonia's song is good.  Any of those I'd be happy with.  So many of those male solo artists were just bad though, really bad, so please don't let it be any of those.

The ten to make the semi final on 23rd January are as follows:

Doody - Magic
Charis Savva & Nearchos Evaggelou – Dila Den Agapo
Christos Rialas – Mine
Minus One - Shine
Giannis Karagiannis - One Thing I Should Have Done
Hovig - Stone In A River
Panagiotis Koufogiannis - Without Your LoveIoanna Protopapa - Beat Of My Heart
Christina Tselepou - In These Arms
Pieros Kezou - Said it All Before

I'm really disappointed by the results.  The ones that I thought were the best didn't get through, and how did some of those male vocalists get through?!  They couldn't sing in tune at all.

The six which have made it through to the final are:

Hovig- Stone In A River
Doody- Magic
Panagiotis Koufogiannis - Without Your Love
Minus One - Shine
Giannis Karagiannis - One Thing That I Should Have Done
Charis Savva & Nearchos Evaggelou - Dila Den Agapo

I am not a fan of any of these.  The last two in the list are the best of those which remain.  That still doesn't change the fact that all the best entries fell at the first hurdle.

The winner is...

Giannis Karagiannis - One Thing I Should Have Done

It's not awful, at least he can sing, which is more than could be said for the other male artists who entered.  Of the songs which made it to the final, it was one of the better ones.

But one day the old lovers long for more
Dreams and desires of another youth
And they leave their families, betray their friends
They don't want advice about how to be happy

The song that won, is my favourite, but the result still surprised me.
I thought that One Thing I Should Have Done or Shine would win. I liked them too, they would be my 2nd and 3rd choices.
