« on: June 02, 2014, 11:09:54 PM »

Who will the Danes chose to follow in Basim's footsteps?

Discuss the Danish selection in this thread

The ten songs to make it to the Danish national selection are as follows:

Sara Sukurani: Love Me Love Me

It's pretty average really in my opinion.  The tune is a bit catchy, but not in a good way, and the lyrics are not that inspiring.

Tina Stachowiak & René Machon: Mi Amore

This is more of a eurovision song :).  I like it.  There's nothing overly original about it, but I like the tune, and it's a nice combination of ballad style lyrics with a more upbeat tune.  The only criticism I have is that the lyrics are too repetitive.

Marcel & Soulman Group: Når Veje Krydses

I'm not impressed by this at all.  It sounds like a nothing song from the UK chart, but sung in Danish.  I don't like it at all.

Cecilie Alexandra: Hotel A

Cecilie's voice reminds me of someone, but I can't put my finger on who.  She has quite a nice voice, and the song is quite soothing.  Possibly too soothing for the Eurovision though.  I can't see it doing that well.

Andy Roda: Love Is Love

I can see this doing well, but it's not something I like.  The chorus is too disco like, and he just comes over as being a bit cheesy !

Julie Bjerre: Tæt på Mine Drømme

This sounds promising.  It's bright and breezy, which is good for Eurovision, but I'm not sure that it's a winner.  It might not stand out enough, but maybe those who understand Danish would disagree with me :).

Anti Social Media: The Way You Are

I love the name of the group !  The song is unremarkable though.  Catchy at times, but the lyrics don't impress me very much at all.  They are very forgettable.

Anne Gadegaard: Suitcase

The lyrics for this are a bit unusual, but the song seems to relaxed and lacking energy for Eurovision.  It strikes me more as something I'd hear on British radio than at Eurovision.  I'm not sure about the key change later on, I quite like it on the whole.

Babou: Manjana

A pretty run of the mill piece of dance type music and an average singer.  I don't like this.

World of Girls: Summer Without You

This is the sort of song I can see people tapping their feet too, but the versus are better than the chorus, which is too 'dance like' for my tastes.  It's okay, but it's not really something that I like.

Irisado I fixed your post so all videos showed :)

Sara Sukurani: Love Me Love Me
(I hate techno, this sounds soo bad even paying attention to lyrics)

Tina Stachowiak & René Machon: Mi Amore
(I know I hate techno and their is a wee bit but I like this, something about it that just makes me want to keep listening)

Marcel & Soulman Group: Når Veje Krydses
(wow this burns my ears)

Cecilie Alexandra: Hotel A
(She has a nice voice, music is not the best be nice as acoustic with a slight ever so slight drum beat)

Andy Roda: Love Is Love
(Horrible ... next please)

Julie Bjerre: Tæt på Mine Drømme
(Only thing that she has got going for her is her looks and her voice)

Anti Social Media: The Way You Are
(Reminds me too much of FIVE ... and they suck!)

Anne Gadegaard: Suitcase
(I really likes this, it sticks and sounds relatively pleasant to the ears)

Babou: Manjana
(7 seconds in and its turned off ... says enough)

World of Girls: Summer Without You
(I can see Atomic Kitten doing this, they aren't anything special)

Thanks, I was trying to fix that myself yesterday, but couldn't find the issue.

The group Anti Social Media has won the Danish final :(.  Of all the songs that they could have chosen, and they opted for that one!  I am very disappointed.

Anti Social Media - The Way You Are: much better entry for Denmark after their horrible entry last year, but i got the feeling of listening britpop bands of the 90s....a bit oldfashioned...
