The finalists for Finland
Aikuinen - Kyynelten lahti

(Not a fan of techno and this is great example of what is wrong with techno)

Angelo De Nile - All for Victory

(I am sure I have heard this before, I like but cant see it performing well)

Eeverest - Love It All Away

(Has a Lena Mayer feel to her voice, she has nice voice but techno ruins it)

Hans On The Bass - Loveshine

(I like this is simple, catchy, got a nice beat)

Heidi Pakarinen - Bon Voyage

(it’s a good song, couldn’t see it doing well if it made it to Vienna)

Ida Bois - Kumbaya

(I liked it until the trance dance came it then just ruined it)

Jouni Aslak - Lions and Lambs

(he looks like my friend Fabian, lyrics are ok but his voice and the music is a no for me)

Järjestyshäiriö - Särkyneiden sydänten kulmilla

(I quite like this one, I can imagine this being played at my old work in Turku and people singing along, good contender unsure how it would do in Vienna)

Norlan El Misionario - No Voy A Ilorar Por Ti

(I can see my ex voting for this as its sung in Spanish, but for me not a chance not fan of R&B)

Opera Skaala - Heart of Light

(Before its even sung I don’t like, I like opera but she sounds dreadful)

Otto Ivar - Truth or Dare

(I like the intro, but he is too quiet for the beat, too bot band so a no for me)

Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät - Aina mun pitää

(I like this but can see it getting sympathy vote because of their disabilities, this is never good, they are good I cant deny, but punk seldom goes down well in Eurovision)

Pihka ja myrsky - Sydän ei nuku

(She can sing and she looks good but too techno puts me off)

Satin Circus - Crossroads

(From name was hoping for something different, they are ok nothing specuak, a good contender)

Shava - Ostarilla

(Indian beat meets Finnish, it works, not sure I can see this in ESC though)

Siru - Mustelmat

(She has a nice voice, music is ok, I do like this one a lot, she is good looking so that is a plus)

Solju - Hold Your Colours

(This is an interesting one the Sami influence works, she sounds good, is slow, simple but don’t think it has what it takes to win national finals)

Vilikasper Kanth - Äänenkantamattomiin

(lyrics good, music works, his voice just grates me hopefully he doesn’t get it)

My favourites are the songs by Siru and Solju.  They seem like the best songs and the best singers to me.  The 'Truth or Dare' song could have been good, but the singer lacks conviction and emotional, and that's what's needed for a song like that.  The rest are spoilt by various issues with the music, particularly those which try to mix techno with the melody, and I'm not a fan of R&B or mixing Indian music with Finnish either.  That punk song is the worst of the lot though, so please don't let them choose that!

It might.  It wouldn't surprise me if it did.  Punk is really not my thing, but that song is bad, even for punk :(.

Speaking of which, it's great that so many of those entries are sung in Finnish rather than English.  I don't get why one entry is in Spanish though.  That's a bit strange :D.

I agree that it's a great thing that a disabled group gets to be involved like this.  I just wish that they had a decent song.  I can't listen to it.  It's like an even worse version of the Sex Pistols, and they were bad enough.

But one day the old lovers long for more
Dreams and desires of another youth
And they leave their families, betray their friends
They don't want advice about how to be happy

Go Finland! Punk in ESC is very cool...but it's too short, and songs like that already existed at Sex Pistols time... However i like this a lot :)

Worst song in the contest by a mile. One minute and forty two seconds too long.
