Well, probably the best news we've gotten for ESC in a looong time. Lovebugs will represent Switzerland in Moscow :D

though I agree a lot with you, that this is an AMAZING news.. I also would like to put up that France's choice of Patricia Kaas is huge (maybe you guys don't get it, but she's very well known and hugely popular.. Ortal, Virginie, Les Fatals Picards are all anonymous nowadays, only Sebastier is still known..) and Patricia is highly known and popular in Russia too! (she's a friend of prime minister Vladimir Putin). And ALW for the UK, and Regina for Bosnia.. That's a lot of good news.

I have the feeling that, after having recieved 4 huge craps from the East.. maybe the 2009 eurovision song contest will be the big year of the West return?!

Now Lovebugs and Regina will probably be both great and trying to use the same vibe that put "Deli" in the top 10.. though neither Switzerland nor Bosnia have the "population" votes that Turkey has.. So we'll see. My expectations are really high.

Has Kaas been 100% confirmed?

I can't believe that of all I said that's all you replied on. Let's say it's 95% certain now 8)
Only the Channel didn't officially said so, but even Kaas team mentioned on radio that they're working on it ;D

hahah :P Great that Kaas is going :D.

about Regina, well Bosnia-Herzegovina has neighbour voting on it's side, and with juries they could be pushed very high to be honest.

well, lovebugs can't really be compared to MVO too much, they've more of an indie sound going on.

and on the note about ALW for UK.... well we'll wait and see what he comes up with that one.

France made an inspired choice last year, hopefully more countries take inspiration.

I agree. I know a Danish guy (very hot lol) and he told me that in High School in his French class they translated a song by Kaas actually. That proves she's known around Europe. And we all know she's a great performer. So all in all it's going to be good. But I doubt we'd win. But we can hope for top 5..

True that Regina do have balkan voting. And juries. Well YAY maybe Bosnia and rock can win?

You're right about Lovebugs. Gosh they're great I'm really excited about them going. I remember when "Cool vibes" was chosen. It was a great choice by Switzerland, nice try, but the song wasn't amazing. Now my expectations are really high.

I've never liked ALW lol but what I mean is that, no more rapping lil kids or flying flags whory aircrew.. My hopes are on Mark.. Jade would be wasted with two many wanna-be divas. The Twins would be liked by Europe but they're too "Village of the damed" for me..

I think most Western european countries took that inspiration. The Dutch trio is really boring and bad imo. But they're LOVED in the NL (or at least very well known). The thing is, even if they don't go to the final, it's gonna bring the NL interests back to Eurovision and that's a start.

Mark's the only viable choice imo. Jade will not suit an ALW song, at least Mark could do something decent.

On the point of De Toppers getting interest back in ESC in Netherlands... well look what happened here with Dustin the Turkey. Well known tv figure sent to ESC = big story within the country, so maybe it aint such a bad thing :P

Wow we're off topic.

In all honesty i don't think the esc will be in Western Europe next year. But the Western European countries with the best chances to score well are
France and the United Kingdom. Hopefully one of the two will hit the top 10 this year  :)
