When I discovered the songs I was really excited. Finland had an amazing NF.. But then the lives came in.. from a small studio in Tampere, and all in all most of the 12 singers made a poor live. Since all 12 songs were musically good, the lives made a big difference. I still think the WORST ones were Kwan who didn't pull a single note correctly.

Here is my final ranking of the 12 Finnish entries, after having watched the semifinal lives..
02 - Riikka - Meren
08 - Waldo's People - Lose Control
07 - Remu - Planeetta
12 - Jari Sillanpää - Kirkas Kipinä
03 - Tapani Kansa - Rakkautta On, Rauhaa Ei
06 - Passionworks - Surrender
05 - Sani - Doctor, Doctor
04 - Tiara - Manala
10 - Janita - Martian
11 - Vink - The greatest plan
09 - Signmark - Speakerbox
01 - Kwan - 10000 Light Years

Without a doubt Riikka remains the absolute best.. Waldo's People are great but they need to work for a better live in Moscow. Since Passionworks completely destroyed all their chances with an extremely week live thanx to an irrelevant snowflake, it's probably going to be Waldo's People's night.. unless Signmark manage to actually have a live on Saturday in which case they might be dangerous. I also think Remu has more chances than what people want to give him.. But I think being a runner-up or a third is more likely for him.. if many Finns did not watch the numerous heats for which they don't care for, I assume that allowed many joke and outcast votes to go to weirder entries like Signmark and then the fans voted for their favorite artists, Kwan, Waldo's People, Remu and Kansa made it through.. The votes in the final might be more mainstream in which case probably Waldo's People will make it through.. But hey, Finland managed to surprise us years after years even when it's three years in a row of good rock. So.. go RIIKKA

oh yeah can someone remind Riikka before saturday that she actually has "arms" and that having them lying against her body isn't really  helping..

of your NF Niko, I think it's the one you'd like most to go for Finland : i don't see you going for Signmark or Passionworks!
it's musically one of the best we'll have this year but they need a great great great live in Moscow

that's the problem.. many awesome radio hits don't do well at esc... it's a 3mns show that people will mostly judge

This is pretty darn good - but the live will need to be outstanding for it to work.

Compared to most of the stuff this year, this will have the biggest effect in a 3 minute show.

well I'm still in love with Riikka and her "Meren".. here's an interview of her about her entering Euroviisut once more!

"Somehow Eurovision comes to my life regularly, from different directions. I have been as a solist in 2004 with Toarie and then in Jaris' back up choir in Istanbul, and also with Jasmine in Oslo. And of course in the interval act in Helsinki 2007 where I came down from the ceiling with the wires and was so scared... and here I am again. I'm sooo excited!" says Riikka who is visibly excited about the second chance. "The song is very beautiful and has been around already for a long time but Villa and I are now reworking it. It's very sad and melancholy. I only wish I could great the same wonderful feeling on stage I had in 2004. I thought it was once in a lifetime experience but here I am again! Euroviisut is such a great experience!"

yes apart from being in Jari's team, she's also been in Jasmine's! (and we all know my love for Finland 1996!)
As for her song "Toarie" it's free to listen and to download too here :

The song seems good and from what i saw does well at forum polls...
I didnt like their stage appearance AT ALL.
IMO overrated at polls and they just need to do an average stage appearance and the others following will eat them(doing something special onstage...).i believe that the stage appearance will really clear things up(so lets what for the rehearsals...).
6,5/10!

Finnish people have never been good in touting anything they have done. Same goes here: even if I would, I could not say that the Finnish song is very good etc. We are good in being quite - "Never comment anything if you are not asked about it" is one of the things which every Finnish child or youngster have been taught by his/her parents. Other similar things what is told to us is: "Never talk overtly about yourself and try to speak as little as possible also when you are asked, because who said that others would be interested in your opinions or about your personality."

So, that is why I prefer being as quiet as possible in this thread and let others comment the Finnish entry.  :(

Ha! Ha! That is not a good lesson, Niko! I personally neither like neither dislike Finnish entry. I already said (I think) that this reminds me DJ Bobo - Vampires are alive, only that DJ Bobo is an international star and with all these he didn't catched the final, so...  :worry: I don't think that Finland will be in the final this year.
