??? :o Why?

Let's just put it this way...

# Click the following link

http://www1.nrk.no/nett-tv/klipp/455736

# Move to the minute 38 and 40 seconds and watch till the end

# Pay some attention to the votes from the norwegian juries

# Pay special attention to the votes from the norwegian public (45 minute or so)

# Consider that the usual diaspora friendly countries apparently selected  either weak songs (Armenia), weak up-tempos (Greece) or in general jury-unfriendly songs (discussable, see Turkey)

# Both bookies and opinion polls agree on Norway being the favourite for victory (arguably both don't show a strong support to ballads and may get upset that way, see France, the UK and Iceland, between others)

# A very high percentage of the norwegian voters preferred Fairytale (and Rybak wasn't specially popular before IIRC, even if he was an ex-Idol reject), even so, there is always that minority of voters (say.... 20% when we were considering just 4 songs) obviously voted for other entries. (on the other hand, this still implies a huge mayority favouring the song, which is quite significant if we remember that the song that ended 2nd actually had a quantity of votes big enough for winning some other MGP editions)

# Big jury appeal and HUGE televoting appeal makes this an obvious bookie favourite until the rehearsals at least

I mean, there are reasons :P

Aww, what a nice video, thank you Adrian!

It was really great to see Alexander playing violin at the age of 9 (that is what was said in the end of the video. And when the interviewer asked him in the end if he was really 9 in that video, Alexander answered: "Yes, if my mother says so! " The woman playing piano is Alexander's mother. Oh, how cute, I still have to watch the video another time.  :)  :sing:

Hey, I'm not some sort of wizard, I can't make you see that :P (specially considering I have some problems seeing it myself, though I kind of see it), but your question was about why this was the bookies favourite, not about what did they find in the song in order for it to be so inmensely hyped :P

What can I say, this as favourite is far closer to the truth than Greece as the runner up (which is funny, to say the least)

sos sos sos sos sos
i see this as the winner or for sure top3!
Its catchy and the guy plays so well with the cameras...
He will speak Russian he will get votes from ex-soviet countries and not ONLY
Alot of Greeks already like it its the most played entry here with Turkey and Spain...
9/10!

i was SURE a country outside Eastern Europe was gonna win this year(the one with the entry which will be most liked and this one seems to be it....).

SUCH AN OBVIOUS WINNER........nice winner (would had prefer France or Iceland but he was good)  :goodjob:

He wasn't great in the semi and improved for the final but there is still no justification for a victory of that size.
